Communication Lines documented comprehensive disaster recovery/storage network content for a large software vendor for system administrator audiences.

Working with FrameMaker and Adobe Acrobat, we worked closely with developers to add content and edit current documentation to comply with CA. standards. We were responsible for library bookshelf of product documentation for a variety of SAN/NAS products.

Communication Lines created an online API reference guide and administrator manual for an XML library that defined request and response elements for multiple API schemas used in online investment research services for the broker dealer community.

A thorough understanding of XML, TCP/ IP, HTTP protocols and exposure of standards-based XML/Web infrastructures for platform-independent data exchanges was required for this project.

We designed and developed user guides that provided information on using an integrated handheld patient management system for health care professionals who track and monitor patient data including viewing lab results.

We also created an online knowledge library including simulated tutorials displaying user actions for the handheld and Web interface using RoboDemo.

We managed and participated in the development of technical documentation, design, programming, testing and documentation of an accounting system/sales analysis-forecast system. The system collected information about sales and revenues numbers and then analyzed it based upon user enterable criteria.

This batch system also balanced spending and revenue against an existing budget for an area, which could be used to forecast sales trends and future budgets for that area. Interfaced with management and users on design and technical requirement documentation.

Communication Lines designed and developed a complete online user documentation set to roll out the new Web-based billing system (Choice Billing System). Also developed internal procedures manual and support desk scripting for PMFO’s Billing Customer Service group including how to maintain policyholder accounts using legacy systems as well as new Web-based transaction processing system.

Acting in the role of project lead, we hired resources to work with us and carry out design goals for user documentation.

In the role of technical publications managers, Comm. Lines completely restructured and redesigned an existing document library set of 7 highly technical manuals for this provider of products for the broadband wireless market.

Working closely with an engineering group located in the U.K., and the product management group based in Dallas, TX, we developed new documentation packaging for the existing library set and migrated all documentation from paper to a fully interactive online Web-based knowledge system that included a full text search database for each manual.

I took a look at the Sales Guide that you pulled together for last week’s TDK Medical training. Thanks to your hard work, this guide is top notch. With our limited internal resources and tight timelines, we could not have pulled this off without you.
